Pioneer Guest Cabins

Just arrived in Telluride this afternoon! More importantly we left this morning from an absolute gem of a place… where you’re reading reviews now (Pioneer Guest Cabins). If you are considering a stay here and the reviews will be the deciding factor… believe me you are at the right place! Quiet, serene, historic, traditional, cozy, romantic and a must stay if available. The hosts are fantastic! The amenities are very adequate. You will be extremely comfortable. Remember, it’s a mountain cabin. When we considered staying in the Crested Butte area, our biggest turn off was other loud self-centered visitors. Pioneer Guest Cabins are the exact opposite. There is a sense of reverence and peace when outside that promotes quietness and tranquility. We highly recommend this place! Lastly, don’t forget to make friends with Buck (The dog) during your stay! Actually, he will likely find you:) Thank you Pioneer Guest Cabins for hosting us Floridians during our stay!

We had such a wonderful time at pioneer cabins! The cabin is so cozy, has pretty much everything you need! Wood and gas fireplace was amazing! The beds are so comfy! We ended up having the whole place to ourselves before they closed for off season and that was just an added serenity. Resident dogs were so nice and cute! The hot tub was perfect with heated changing rooms, the whole place is really well planned, taking into consideration guests’ convenience and comfort! The owners were so nice and helpful! They have games,books, dog beds/bowls and extra stuff in the office which was convenient. We loved the place and cannot wait to be back! Hikes and activities right out your door!

We had a lovely stay at the Pioneer Guest Cabins! Everything was comfortable and clean, and the location is stunning. We definitely plan to come back.

Great small cabins with all the essential amenities. Indoor wood stove, fire pit, small kitchen with dishes, utensils, and appliances. Near great hiking trails and 20 minutes from downtown Crested Butte proper. Road into the property is a bit pitted and maybe really rough on low clearance vehicles. Fantastic in all other ways though and highly recommended.

The Pioneer Guest Cabins are an excellent hideaway near Crested Butte! We were only there two nights, but would have loved a few more! The cabin was fully stocked for our ability to cook and stay comfortably. The hosts were wonderful and so friendly. The area trails were beautiful and excellent for a hike with our dog. I highly recommend checking them out!

So much wonderful. The cabins have everything you could need. The hot tub is divine. The hikes in walking distance are amazing. We hiked trail heads around Crested Butte as well as right out our door.

Pioneer Guest Cabins is truly a marvelous place! From the moment you arrive, it's clear that their cabins have been thoughtfully designed to offer everything you could want in a cabin experience—and more. The location offers fantastic access to downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and hiking, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The cabin itself was beautifully decorated, with a tasteful eye for detail that creates a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The gas fireplace made the ambiance cozy and kept us warm at night. It was also well-stocked with all the essentials for cooking, which made meal prep easy and enjoyable. The reception area offered a wonderful selection of books, puzzles, and games. The book collection was particularly impressive—so well-curated, with something for every taste! The hot tub that you could reserve was the perfect place to wind down after a long day. Leah, the host, was warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch to the stay that made it feel even more special. I can't wait to return to this charming cabin retreat—highly recommend!

This was my second stay at the Pioneer Guest Cabins. My girlfriend and I stayed here on a girls trip a couple years ago and loved the place. I wanted to share the experience with my husband. We stayed for a couple days to hike in the area of Crested Butte. The cabin we stayed in (Doubletop) was clean and very comfortable. The cabins are small by comparison to hotels these days, but it is a cabin and not supposed to be huge. The cabin was decorated and had everything you could need. There was a gas fireplace, a wood stove, and a fire pit and picnic bench. There are games, books and puzzles in the office you can borrow. Most important was the shared hot tub! There is a heated shack to change in beside the hot tub. My husband even brought his fly fishing rod and got in a bit of fishing at the creek before we headed out for our hikes. We had no cell service in the area, but each cabin had wifi in case you panic to disconnect. The owners are environmentally respectful and you can see when you chat with them, they love where they live and want to take care of the land/environment. We LOVED our stay and will be going back!!
